Holy Family has held the British Council International School Award for the past eleven years. The award is assessed every two years and rewards schools that have shown a commitment to embedding international awareness and understanding within their school.
The international school award requires partnerships with other schools around the world. In addition to our strong links with schools in Uganda we have also established links with schools in China, the Netherlands, Greece and Poland. We have hosted learning assistants from Spain and China and each year we host European Erasmus students through Stranmillis College. We feel this has enabled our students to develop an increased knowledge, awareness and tolerance about other countries, cultures and languages. Given them confidence in communicating with people from different backgrounds and planted seeds for developing foreign language skills in the future.
