Active School Travel

We are delighted that we have achieved the Sustrans School Mark Gold Award which demonstrates excellence in sustainable travel!

We have lots of initiatives that are now embedded in our School calendar including Ditch the Stabilisers, themed walking buses and the Walk to School Week.

Our biggest event is the UK-wide BIG PEDAL competition which involves one entire week dedicated to travelling to school on wheels. In school, we have different activities for the children to participate in daily and at the weekends with a Superhero dress-up day to celebrate our active travel. Holy Family Primary School has come second in Northern Ireland for the last two years!
