Athletics in Holy Family

Our Athletics Club runs every Monday afternoon from 3.00 - 4.00 pm. Our training takes place at the Waterworks with two teachers.

Children are entered in various cross country and track events over the academic year. The track event takes place at Mary Peters Track in Term 3 and allows children to gain coaching and experience in the long jump, javelin throw, 100m sprint and 400m distance run.

In Term 2a, some children receive coaching from Athletics NI and then take part in the Belfast Sports Hall Athletics Tournament in February/March. As a result of this tournament, some of our children have gone on to represent Belfast against towns and cities across Northern Ireland.
