Healthy Eating

Holy Family has a Healthy Eating Policy.

We provide a fruit snack at break time for Primary 1 children. They may also bring their own fruit/healthy sandwich if you prefer.

Children from Primary 2 to Primary 7 can bring a piece of fruit and/or a healthy sandwich/pancake/muffin for their break.

We have a healthy lunchbox rule.

Children are encouraged to bring a filled water bottle into class at the start of the day. Research indicates that drinking water is not healthy, but improves concentration.

The KS2 fresh fruit and water tuck shop is currently suspended due to the Covid-19 restrictions and ensuring the safety of our children by keeping them in their class bubbles.

 Tesco Partnership

In partnership with Tesco Antrim Road, our children have learned all about healthy eating and about where our food comes from.  Every year group has visited Tesco a number of times over the past few years and they have thoroughly enjoyed their activities with our very own Tesco expert, Gail.
